Studio Assistant

We're looking for a detail-oriented optimist who loves figuring things out and making things happen.

You'll help keep the studio running smoothly by supporting projects from beginning to end. You’ll be the person the studio depends on, catching the typo before it’s too late, noticing when a deadline is slipping, asking the question nobody else thought of. One hour you may be on an impromptu video call with a client. The next you may be proofreading a menu, coordinating with a sign maker, or helping a customer in the shop.

You’ll be in constant communication with clients and vendors, managing our calendar and project timelines, and facilitating administrative tasks and procedures.

We don't expect you to know everything on day one. If you're the kind of person who enjoys solving confusing problems, coming up with ideas to do things better, catches little mistakes, loves learning, and takes pride in doing things well, we'll happily teach you the rest.

This is an in-person position. While we anticipate this role being full-time, we're open to discussing a part-time schedule if it's the right fit for both you and the studio. The role begins with a three-month introductory period with the intention of growing into a long-term position for the right person.

What You Should Possess

We can instruct the hand, and perhaps the eye, but not the heart. To be successful here, you must have these qualities:

  • Early bird — always on time, usually early.

  • Proofreader — mortified by typos and quick to catch mistakes.

  • Communicative — easy to reach, reliable, and responsive. Enjoys writing emails that are friendly and easy to understand.

  • Empathetic — the ability to read the room, understand people and their emotions, relate to how they are feeling, and make them comfortable

  • Sense of ownership — naturally cares for the studio, our clients, and our projects as though they were your own.

  • Enthusiastic extrovert — loves talking to anyone and everyone, never met a stranger.

  • Highly organized — loves creating systems and lists and bringing order to chaos. Would not mind someone looking into their car, closet, or to-do lists at any given moment.

  • Tidy — can't relax if there's a mess nearby.

  • Proactive, maybe even impatient — picks up the phone, asks the question, or goes on site instead of waiting around.

  • Good sense of humor — able to laugh at yourself and remain optimistic under pressure.

  • Community-minded — enjoys getting out into the community, checking out new businesses, supporting our clients, and celebrating their successes.

  • Curious — driven by a love of learning new things and get bored with staying in your comfort zone.

  • Proficient — highly competent on the computer, internet, and able to learn new programs easily (we use Slack, ClickUp, Squarespace, Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and more that we may not have yet discovered).
